ENVISION Certificate

Envision® is the product of a joint cooperation of the American engineering associations, i.e., the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and American Public Works Association (APWA) with the Zofnass Program developed by the Harvard University for Sustainable Infrastructure. The Envision Certificate is a certificate that assesses the sustainability of the entire IGA project holistically. In this context, it assesses the project under five main headings: Life Quality, Leadership, Resource Utilization, Nature, and Climate & Risk. Within this framework, all works from the design stage to operation stage of the project are assessed.

İstanbul New Airport wants to spread the Sustainability culture, measure the performed works by using different measurement methods, and to show its sustainability performance to the entire world in a transparent manner. It has been aimed to obtain an important certificate, the Envision certificate, for a mega project such as Istanbul New Airport so that this project can thus lead and become a model for the other infrastructural projects. İstanbul New Airport will be the first and the biggest project entitled to this certificate out of the North America, and the first airport constructed from scratch.

Upon completion of registration of the İNA Project with the Envision program, ISI President and CEO John Stanton said the following:

"We are glad that the interest in Envision has been expanding to Europe and the world". "We are impatient to review the sustainability of a big, high profile project like Istanbul New Airport with the Envision system."
