Value-Added Elements

The Social Investment Program has many features that provide value-added. These features are as follows:

International Commitment: The Social Investment Program activities comply with the requirements of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the activities are inspected and audited by the creditors and a neutral organization.

Multifaceted Sustainable Development Targets: The Program complies with the IFC Performance Standards 1 and 2. Considering the Sustainable Development Goals, on the other hand, the Program activities make contributions to the requirements of 6 goals in total: SDG 3, SDG 4, SDG 5, SDG 8, SDG 11, and SDG 15.

Effective Stakeholder and Employee Participation: The program shows the most beautiful examples of public-private sector-NGO partnerships. Each project is carried out together with minimum one stakeholder organization absolutely. Totally 50 different organizations served as stakeholders in the last 10-month process within the scope of the Program. The stakeholder relations are based on transparency, participation, and respect. In conducting the activities, over 30 İGA have made contributions as trainer, organizer, incentivizing to use local products, etc.

Transparency: All activities are carried out by paying utmost regard to the transparency principle, and information is given, upon requests of the stakeholders and individuals, through the website and official letters.

Implementation Team: All projects within the scope of the Social Investment Program are carried out by a team experienced on development, which has been created in İGA especially. This system ensures that the ongoing projects are designed correctly, an effective evaluation mechanism is established, close and reliable relations are established with the local people, and effective, fast, clear, and concrete deliverables are provided.

Importance of Local: In the sustainability projects, the number of initiatives targeting projects that are focused on and attach importance to the local, and are effective at the micro level is limited when compared to the other general projects. İGA is aware of the fact that sustainable rural development begins at the local level.

Adoption: The program is highly adopted by the public, private sector, and the local people. This can be indicated by active participation of 50 different organizations and 16,000 individuals.

Effective Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism: The works carried out within the scope of the program are monitored and controlled through weekly, monthly, semiannual, and annual reports.

These works are also audited by a neutral consultancy company against the IFC Performance Standards. Additionally, İGA has established an Advisory Board, constituted by the representatives of 12 different organizations, for the purposes of giving information on the ongoing development works, organizing correct and appropriate activities, and increase adoption of the projects.
