Existing bird radars have a shorter range than meteorological radars. Depending on the size of the bird, the distance that the bird can be detected first varies by radar. Larger groups of birds can be detected at longer distances. Therefore, it is a very important work to determine the arrival of the large crowds in the airport area beforehand and to take the necessary precautions and make the warnings timely. For this purpose, studies of bird detection from meteorological radars are carried out in the world. As a unit, we are closely monitoring the inclusion of these scientific working groups around the world. This study is aimed to help not only the airports in Turkey but also the pilots.
